I have to get better.”

Dr. Nagelberg - Comprehensive Orthopedic Consultation and Report: Job Despcription:  patient (Nadya Suleman) employed at Metropolitan State Hospital (from July 1997 until injured September 1999) worked 8 hours per day, five days per week, plus 10 hours overtime per week. 


According to the pre-trial conference statement her salary at the time of her injury was $625.48 per week.

Nadya Suleman: I'm not living off of any taxpayer money. If I am - if it's food stamps, it's a temporary resource. And - we - my family received maybe about a year and a half ago. And during school - and it's only for food.

Between January 2007 and July 2008, at the time Ms. Suleman admitted to receiving food stamps (above), she underwent 4 cycles of IVF.

Initial injury report Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, Ms. Suleman told the emergency room doctor that she was going in for fertility treatments and wished not to have much radiation.

After the initial injury report there is no further mention of fertility treatments by any of the treating physicians or mental health professionals.  See above, during a QME while 5 months pregnant after IVF Ms. Suleman stated to the doctor that she had not been attempting to get pregnant.
 
On October 3, 2001 Ms. Suleman was 'rear-ended' while leaving her treating psychologist's office.  On October 8, 2001, she had an egg retrieval done by Dr. Kamrava.  On October 11, 2001, during examination by her treating orthopedic doctor, she informed him of the accident, noting increasing pain it the cervical spine.  On October 13, 2001, Dr Kamrava performed a successfull embryo transfer. 

During a hearing to extend her disability benefits in December 2001, Ms Suleman stated that due to the car accident, she had trouble walking around at home and her husband had to hire someone to help take care of her baby.  She admitted that the pregnancy had aggravated her back condition, but did not disclose that she had undergone fertility treatment around the time of the car accident and was again pregnant.

The birth certificates for the oldest 4 of Nadya Suleman's children list the father as the following:

Nadya Suleman married Marcos Gutierrez 8/15/1996

According to the Divorce records they separated January 2000
According to the Worker's Compesation Appeal Board Report they separated either May or June 2000 (both dates are listed in various doctor's reports), and that they reconciled 9/2001, but no date was given for subsequent separation.

According to the Callifornia Medical Board Complaint against Dr. Kamrava, Ms. Suleman's first fertility treatment with him was IUI (intra-uterine insemination) performed April 1997, about 8 months after her marriage to Marcos.  It is also noted that at the time, Ms. Suleman chose to be inseminated with donor sperm.

In one of his reports during 2001, Dr Bloch refutes Dr Nehamen's assertion that Ms. Suleman's depression was due to her conflicting feeling regarding her pregnancy, specifically sighting a symptoms observed by Dr Nagelberg, her treating orthopedic doctor, stating that the examination, done on 10/26/2000 was 'before the patient even suspected that she might be pregnant.'  Dr. Bloch did not mention that Ms. Suleman had invitro fertilization, embryo transfers done on 9/3/2000, so would have been well aware that she was pregnant by 10/26/2000.

During his report of 10/3/2001, Dr Block states, speaking to Ms Suleman about her relationship with her estranged husband, Marcos, that "since their son's birth,  she and her husband began to make progress toward greater reconciliation, and he moved back into the family house about one month prior". From this statement, it appears Dr Bloch was under the impression that Elijah was Marcos' son.


Within all of the mental health reports, Ms Suleman asserted that her marriage to Marcos had been loving, giving and healthy until her injury, when she felt she had nothing to offer him anymore.  However, after the birth of the octuplets, when Denis Beaudoin claimed that he had dated, and was engaged to Ms. Suleman, and had donated sperm, Ms. Suleman's spokesperson issued a statement saying that although she had a relationship with Denis from 1997 to 1999, and that he had donated sperm for her intrauterine inseminations, they were not successful.  So, even though she was in a loving relationship with her husband from 1996, she had a relationship with another man, and chose to use his sperm for her fertility treatments at that time.

Nadya Suleman has repeatedly claimed to have had a breast reduction.  Medical history report indicates positive for breast augmentation, January 2000 orthopedic evaluation from the Worker's Compensation report.

I will not have another one on my own, but who knows in several years from now if that quarter of a percent out of 100, you know, extraordinary person I meet - you never know. I'm not thinking of that now. Today I say, "No, absolutely not." In five years, ask me the same question - maybe my life will be different.

May 4, 2009, Gloria Allred filed a petition on behalf of Paul Petersen (a Minor Consideration) in Orange County Superior Court, seeking to have a financial guardian appointed on behalf of the octuplets.

Jeff Czech, attorney for Nadya Suleman called the octuplets 'incidental' to Ms. Suleman's ability to attain income from media and entertainment.

On June 16, 2009, the California Department of Industrial Relations filed citations against RadarOnLine for, among other things, failure to obtain permit to employ minor children, and filming minors (Noah and Isaiah) without valid Entertainment Work Permits.
